When I was little (between the ages of 3-12) I remember I would be sick quite often. Tummy bugs seemed to be something I would get a few times a year, whereas now the only time I tend to be sick is when I have had a few too many shandies. Has anyone else noticed this, or was my mother just a lousy cook????

I guess bugs and germs are spread easier through children playing and classrooms, when you are older you know how to keep yourself clean, hygenic and how to prevent, so get fewer bugs.
Also small children do not have as robust an immune system as adults. Hence all the injections for measles, mumps and rubella etc. They have to build it up.
I used to get a serious cold atleast once a year, always ending with a trip to the emergency room for asthma. Found out when I was a bit older that I was allergic to our cat!
Oh, and I'm sure the mold growing between our walls didn't helpmuch either.
