A contrasting colour for green or blue is rusty brick colour or a bronze or gold, they look lovely and really suit this eye colour as for browns, lilac or purple is better for making them stand out. I would only suggest brown for blending or shading not to use al over the eye, though when i was younger i used to do this too till i became a trained therapist. Anyway hope this helps a bit
on tues morning i had a makeover at my debenhams clinique counter. i have blue/grey eyes and she used a silver shimmer all over my eye lid and up to the brow then a sparkly purple on 3/4 across the lid and just under my eye then the rest of the lid she did a lilac colour - it really brought the blue out in my eyes even though mine are a darker colour. so for blue/green eyes it should work just as well.
Lavendar really does it well... though it is sort-of a 1980s colour. The trick is to apply it to your eyelids and then only 1/3 of the way up to your eyebrows. Applying all the way up to your eyebrows, or even halfway, just attracts attention to the shadow rather than to your irises. I am surprised people have said brown, I don't think brown does it at all !!! Hmm.
