i would say it depends entirely on the girl and her partner's involvement with the mental health team (section of social services). if he disclosed that his partner was pregnant, i would imagine they would get in touch with the child protection section.
if you think the child might be in danger you should report this. don't wait for someone else to do it, because they may not.
If they did...so what?

Social services are there to help....not *** kids from their mothers arms.
just to back up ummmm's post, Social Services are there to support and help the family. they will do everything they can to assist.

she is a family member no one else knows as yet so can't discuse with other partys yet, i know he is getting benifits for mental health after his parents died but dont know why exactly, he has never been violet though.
Why do you assume that someone with mental health issues would be a danger to a baby?
The mental health services are very very unlikely to inform social services about the pregnancy. They would have to have very good reason to break confidentiality.
And simply having a psychiatric diagnosis is certainly not a good reason or even a reason at all.
If social services were informed every time anyone with mental health problems became pregnant or impregnated someone, they would have no time to do anything other than record the messages.
As daffy says, why would it be assumed that someone with mental health issues would represent a danger to a baby ?
The percentage of people with mental health issues is huge.
