what are the consequences?
111 Answers
recently found out my husband has been having an affair with a much younger girl. i have confronted her and told her i will inform her parents, i think something which would be mortifying, well it would if it happened to me the shame of it. is there anything wrong or illegal in phoning her dad up at work and telling him just how moralistic his daughter is and how he must have brought her up badly. ive heard all the takes two to tango stuff, ive already dealt with hubby shall we say. i just feel i want closure on this girl and i wont stop til ive done something to ruin her life too, but will this? anyone else done a similar thing out there and if so what were the consequences? wanting to know too if its illegal to do this in case its classed as slander, though who can prove the phone call? after all its freedom of speech and all that isnt it?!

Instead of telling her parents , and as you are determined to cause mayhem ,why not tell your own parents and those of your husband as well.
Telling her parents will only cause grief for them, have no effect on the daughter and make you appear to be inept at sorting out your husband and your problem.

i hope you have phoned your husbands parents and told them what a sleaze he is and that they brought him up with no morals,do you have children ? how would you feel if someone phoned you up to tell you your son or daughter were brought up badly because they done something like this!!! it happens and the only one at fault is your sleazy husband who probably started it because he didn't want to keep it in his trousers
Red, are you thinking of the poster who's husband had a baby with another woman?
Whilst this post is similar, i dont think it's the same person, though I could be wrong!
Samsworld- I'm gonna reiterate what everyone else has already said. I can't believe you've seriously thought of doing this to this woman, and she is a woman ,not a slip of a girl! And more importantly why you'd do this to her parents- what on earth have they ever done to you?
If my daughter at 28 was sleeping with a married man, whilst i wouldn't be impressed, it would be her life and not for me to lay the law down. Your husband is the one who commited adultery, not her, she's free to sleep with who she likes.

the affair ended just over two weeks ago. no, i have never posted on here before. seems alot of it about obviously. i have told his parents what he is, they were shocked, so would her parents. i will be calling her parents without harrassment, they think she is a wonderful girl, even if she is free and single it doesnt give her the right to flirt with a married man. it does take two as ive said but she was one of the two! so i have freedom of speech and its only fair the truth be told so they see her for what she is inclined to do. tough on the parents but her fault for bringing cr*p to their doorstep. i would want to know if my daughter did anything like this for sure.
i was not asking for answers re sorting out my husband, but instead about whether i had the right without prejudice to call her parents, freedom of speech, non slander. the right for me to say what i want to someone when i feel i want to about someone doing something wrong. of course i am furious and all the other emotions that go with it and shes got off scotfree.
