I want a rant ....

We have a school bus that goes past our house twice in the morning at 7.50 and then about 8.15 and then leaves from the school in the afternoon. Now it seems that once they hit about 16 it's not 'cool' to get the bus any more. I don't get called on often for lifts but the whole situation annoys me when we have a school bus there. Some parents always give there teens lifts - which I personally think is ridiculous - so they take the surplus to school also - friends of their kids - I've just had a row with my 16 year old as to the stupidness of the whole situation and the babying of children by other parents. I came out looking as if I was only arguing as I have to collect from time to time - arghhhhh - rant over !!!

god there was a time when it was deemed uncool for your parents to take you to school after the age of 9 or 10 what is the world coming to ?

I know zzxxee - I used to walk to school - 20 mins and go home at lunch too - so 20mins 4 times a day !

i used to walk, occasionly i got a lift, never got the bus though that was skanky (not to add fuel to the fire....)

Afternoon Peri - thats why there are so many overweight,unfit kids nowdays - they have forgotten what their legs are for. The girls think they are just for waxing and the boys think they just for kicking a ball about.

My 11 year old walks 2.5 miles to school...and the same home. His choice though. He's given bus money but decides to walk instead and save the money. He's home at about the same time as he was when he got the bus (2 buses)

She doesn't ask for lifts a lot as even though I can't see it now - she's a good kid but the stupidity of it all and this being sheep thing because one does it all others will follow annoys me - but also she is allowed rant as teens do but if I do I'm moaning !!!

My nephew does that too Ummmm and at the week-end my sister gives him a little extra to boost this his miser mind :-), which I think is good. My nephew has so much money saved, and he often lends his older brother with a interest back.
