Righ as far as i know in the bible it is hinted at that homosexuality is against god? As far as i know it is not a majro part of the bible and only mentioned in a couple of paragraphs?(please correct me if i'm wrong!)

So my question is Why has it taken so much prominence? Why has it so heavily influenced our society and pretty much ALL society? IS humanity inherantly homophobic?

I understood it was to do with the pink pound - i.e. all the money that adults, who will usually by the nature of the relationship be without children, have at their disposal. It is for financial reasons that they are wooed.

Hiya Shermi, the bible doesn't just hint at it. Amongst other things, it actually says that homosexuality is an abomination....

........ and that homosexuals should be executed.

Why has it taken such prominence? I suppose because society demands that we live by the word of the bible, never mind how hypocritical that might make us. Just look at the Catholic priests who set themselves up as guiding lights to their flocks, and at the same time secretly abuse children.

Is humanity inherently homophobic? I don't believe so. We are all the product of the society we are born into, and if that society teaches us that homosexuality is a sin, there's a very good chance we'll grow up believing it. If the bible had never existed I believe our society would accept homosexuality as a natural way of life for a proportion of the population - which it is. The bible condemns many of those who believe its twisted doctrine to an unnatural existence, to needless guilt, to unfounded fear, and hence to pointless and unimaginable misery.

But of course, most Christians choose to cherry pick the good bits and pretend these bits don't exist!! these are the words of "GOD" all Christians should obey or go to hell and burn for eternity!!

Problem is Wiz, they fail to acknowledge that God made a lot of people before those two. That's another bit of the bible they prefer to ignore. As Ratter says, cherry picking.

Sin or not, right or wrong, natural or unnatural, Bible true or false, why few people do this why others don’t.

These are all different questions and scenarios. The simplest equation is that if all of our parents had been homosexuals (or uphill gardeners - as someone mentioned it once) then none of us would have existed today. But then again why would we talk about parents if they were homosexuals as these two things don’t go together.
