anyone else can answer of course but I know they will have something good to say on this!

Righ as far as i know in the bible it is hinted at that homosexuality is against god? As far as i know it is not a majro part of the bible and only mentioned in a couple of paragraphs?(please correct me if i'm wrong!)

So my question is Why has it taken so much prominence? Why has it so heavily influenced our society and pretty much ALL society? IS humanity inherantly homophobic?

Would love to hear peoples opinions

A sober, balanced and quality piece of research there.
Your own posting which you present as facts wasnt exactly quality or balanced either Waldo.
Take a) Being homosexual does not prevent you from having children
Oh yes it does. How could two men have a baby or how could two women have a baby? Naturally they couldnt.
The fact that homosexuals can "arrange" a birth in the case of two women and some sperm, or adopt in the case of two men is a different matter.
They are allowed to, although some would wish otherwise.
Does a child in a family unit of just men need a mother? or a child in a family unit of just women need a father?
I could pick holes in some of your other statements but I wont because we all have a right to put our opinions.
Keyplus, //My ignorance is all too apparent and homosexuality is not a sin but a disease. //

No, it isn't. Read my post again.

Two people of the same gender can’t (currently) have a child together, correct. That isn’t what I said though, is it?

Is it possible for a homosexual person to pass on their genes to a child? Yes. End of argumment, and you agree with me. My statement is correct, Keyplus's was wrong.

"Does a child in a family unit of just men need a mother? or a child in a family unit of just women need a father?"

Does a child in a family unit require a mother that doesn't take heroin while daddy blows his wages gambling? Yes. Does this have any bearing on the biological capacity of these heterosexual people to have child..? No. Your issue over fitness applies to any parent regardless of orientation, and is unrelated to biological capacity to reproduce.

Keyplus was asserting a belief that at a given % of homosexuality by population there would be a major crisis on the basis that homosexuals can’t reproduce. But they can, so even if we were to accept his silly scenario of the world turning gay, there's no reason why children wouldn't continue to be born.
(cont. (character limit is completely bogus on AB))

"I could pick holes in some of your other statements but I wont because we all have a right to put our opinions."

I don't especially care whether you do or you don't pick holes in my posts, but stating that we all have a right to put our opinions without other criticising having just, er, done exactly that is somewhat of a logic fail, no?

Lemme get this straight keyplus...
God doesn't like homosexuals because he's worried the world's human population might die out?,,,,,,huh?

gee if that happens i hope theres someone about that can say....make humans out of sand and mud or a mans rib aye?....I mean if there was someone like that then there isn't an issue at all? in fact if that were true that would mean everything you believe is completely stupid?....since this guy can do waht he wants aye?
Shermi, Excellent! My admiration to you. There you are Keyplus. Sherminator has solved your problem.
Grasscarp – You are forgetting one basic principle here at AB. Never question Waldo and just accept witho your eyes wide shut whatever he says. Does not matter if it makes any sense or it does not. And never say anything against Homosexuality.
Keyplus, what, no thanks to Sherminator for solving your dilemma? Tut tut.
Thank you keyplus. I was trying hard to make sense of what he was saying, but I had to go to work so forgot about it!

Thanks Naomi!!!-its not often i get to shine on here so your damn right i'll gloat when i post a good un! :-)
Ha ha. The perfect solution. Wish I'd have thought of it. Well done Shermi. :o)
The religious argument that homosexuality is wrong because it doesn't lead to procreation is bizarre.

If it's such a sin to neglect our reproductive abilities, why are priests compelled to stay celibate?

Excellent point Quinlad
Me too agree with Quinlad – Excellent point. That is one of the main flaws in Christianity I am afraid but that has nothing to with the teachings of Jesus (pbuh).

Grasscarp and Keyplus, I can't understand why either of you have a problem making sense of what Waldo said. In short, in this day and age, people don't need to have sex in order to reproduce. See? Simples.
