hi folks .
we both came back yesterday from private dentist , for check up and both had teeth cleaned !
total cost of that == £145. What a rip off . He's a lovely dentist, but thinking of trying to go into a nhs dentist.
What would a nhs dentist charge for clean and check up? many thanks for any answers x

Only asking because I'm fairly certain that with places like that, your premium is based on an assessment of your dental health and needs. If you're lucky enough to only need a scale and polish, then you may be able to negotiate a lower premium.

Hi saxy I've just checked and it is Denplan. When I was put on this scheme 5 years ago I qualified for the cheapest premium (something like £11) and it's increased each year. I only signed the direct debit thinking it would be difficult to find another NHS dentist. More fool me - so far I've spent £700 - 800 to have my teeth cleaned - aargh
