jealousy

Do you think that it's the biggest from of flattery if someone is jealous of you, especially if they act on it? i'm starting to think it is

I agree I think its a damaging and scary emotion.

erm..... A couple of things noo doo, i often say it to my friends if they get a piece of good news, i mean it as a compliment but one of them recently told me off about it saying that it's a horrible emotion to have and that i shouldn't say it even if i mean it in a nice way. I don't know if you've seen my other post in house and garden about my flat mate, but that's really what made me think about it. The funny thing is, she's got things going for her that i wish i had, i jus don't think she realizes it.

lol!!!! omg, my friend said the same thing to me, but always think that envy is ten times worse than jealousy. I when i say it to my friends i don't mean it in a horrible way, i'm just joking around really. I don't really get jealous at people, i think i get more mad with myself for not having something if you get what i mean. The number one example of this is not being able to have a normal relationship with a man. I want to love and be loved so so much, but i'm too frightened of getting hurt, so i just find myslef going after men that i know are players. It does my head in :-(

Oh la la, I would say envy is wanting to have the same things other people have, whereas with jealousy you want to have something instead of someone else having it. So if your friend has a nice house and a great relationship and you say you are envious, you would also like to have a nice house and a great relationship. If you are jealous however, you want to have the house and the relationship at her expense - maybe you even want her house, and her relationship.

oh my goodness, thankyou for explaining that too me karen, i can't believe i've gone 24 years without knowing the difference of the two. I didn't think that jealously was such a harsh emotion, maybe i should stop using it so much.
