I will be hitting 40 in a few weeks and Im feeling quiet anxious, sometimes a little sad that life is passing me by so quickly! Is it just me or do most people feel like that when they are nearing a birthday?

I think its normal when its a milestone birthday (30, 40, 50, 60 ect) they say the anxiety and bad feeling does pass. I felt the same at 30
Age is just a number, if life is 'passing you by' then do something about it instead of worrying about your age

My husband passed away at the beginning of May and I have a little girl of 8mths, I think Im just scared of getting old!
I got myself into a right tizzy as my 30th approached, don't know why. It has now ceased to bother me.
Sorry to hear that boona
You should worry - I'm 70 in October!! The trouble is that you wonder where the years have gone. Just enjoy every minute and forget the numbers.

So sorry about your husband.
no. infact other day a mate in my year at school had said on fb 'cant believe im 32' i thought i was 31! I keep missing years lol
my life has been an adventure and a half so far, but still was not looking forwards to being 40, that has passed a few years ago, now i'm not overly looking forwards to being 50 but that is still a bit away.
but worrying about it etc, do not, as it will happen anyway, just enjoy your life as best you can
boona. 40 is not old. I am sorry to hear you lost your husband, maybe that is why you are feeling as you do. Enjoy your daughter, things will get better.
oh just read about your loss, thats so sad. I guess thats why you think time is passing you by. We all think we'll live to 80 + but sometimes doesnt work like that. Are you scared of growing old or growing old alone?
I subscribe to the 'live for today because tomorrow may never come' saying
that's a line joe from a Black Sabbath song called Die Young

I keep really busy in the day, lunch with friends, church etc but in the evening Im at home with my lille girl and even though I love her more than anything I feel quiet lonely, I dont drink alcohol but I havent had a "night out" since before my baby was born! Maybe thats what I need or even a "social evening" would be good! Unfortunatley I dont have any family to babysit!
Oh Boona so sad you hear you are widowed so very young my love, it is still very new and raw for you. Take good care of yourself and lil baby♥
i'll babysit i'm a great babysitter
