Can't help it but the word 'mistress' sounds so outdated. It just makes me think of relationships amongst the gentry back in the times when the men had mistresses and it was accepted as normal amongst their wives. The wives were there to be housekeepers, childbearers and social hostesses and had to look the part and that is all they actually wanted. They married for prestige, money and security.

Butch ...
That was a dark and unpleasant chapter in my life.
I could have coped with my father running away, or having a mistress, or being a morris dancer ...
But ... renting a telly ... the SHAME of it.
Happily, shortly afterwards, I was "sent away" to school, and didn't have to live with the embarrassment of a rented telly.
LOL, LOL

I sense you're not fully comfortable with being a mistress are you hippyhoppy? As far as what defines a mistress, I dont have an answer. They may serve a purpose, may be the lowest of the low, may be considered homewreckers but theyre still human beings. I wish you luck in your life but guess someones going to get hurt and its unlikely to be your lover.
