high securuty job - how could they sack you?

hi, on of my relatives works in a reasonably high security job (where they had to have extended govt' vetting before they could start) For the vetting, they look at all your bank accounts (plus people that live with you) they personally interview 4-6 referees, look into your background plus the backgrounds of all your family plus a personal interview which includes such questions as ""have you ever had an affair, have you ever had any homosexual experiences, are you a swinger" and so on. They are basically making sure you can't be blackmailed into giving away national security secrets.
Anyway, this relative was telling me that if they won the lottery they wouldn't be able to carry on working because they wouldn't let you.
Anyone have any ideas on which grounds they could sack you in this circmstance?

I know a fair bit about Developed Vetting and have never heard of this before.

they CAN be a swinger, or have affairs though mikey, as long as they tell them about it. In fact they can do pretty much anything (not illegal) as long as the vetting people know about it. It's just things that are kept a secret they don't like cause then you are vulnerable to blackmail. It's not the secret service by the way :)
