a very close relative is having major cardiac surgery this afternoon, i am a great believer in the power of prayer, if anyone wishes , could you say a prayer for him for a positive outcome. thank you ,, anne
I am joining the others Anne and praying in my own way x
A close friend had major cardiac surgery not long ago and Mr LL had a major heart attack two years ago and if it helps at all they are both fit and healthy again now and looking better than every before.
Cardiac surgeons are brilliant and there have been so many fantastic advances in heart surgery and care.
thank you lofty, i agree re the stent i believe it is often done during angiogram, and yes would be classed as minor ( although still a worry ) and by pass surgery i agree to me would be major surgery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but i am not an expert.............but hope the surgeon doing the surgery now is an expert !!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANY surgery involving the heart is Major Surgery......opening the chest makes it major surgery.
My point? there is no such thing as minor cardiac surgery.......it is all major so one need not use the adjective MAJOR..........just describe it as Cardiac Surgery.
Is any surgery that involves opening up a large area considered major surgery Sqad even if the procedure is tried and tested and very safe and common,. I believe a caesarian is classed as major surgery.
Well no I don't Sqad, but then there is no other sort of Caesarian as far as I know, but there are different sorts of heart surgery, some more complex and risky than others!!
You do often hear of it referred to as Major Heart Surgery, I suppose you could relabel it as complex or serious heart surgery.
ratter that means a lot to me that you have posted. especially as i should not have just said prayers,,,, all thoughts are greatly appreciated.. surgery completed, now in intensive care on ventilator,,,,,,so we feel a bit relieved tonight,,,many thanks to all who took the time to reply to my post today... anne
