my ex, who i have been completely ignoring went on facebook last night(which he NEVER does, as he says its too immature hes 41)and changed his status from 'in a relationship' to 'single' but didn't defriend me. Do you think he did it for my benefit? i was going to click on 'like' button but then i thought no, i want to disappear from his life (for my healing). I think it might be a jibe at me for ignoring him and not picking up his call last week, what do you think?

I think if you are going to ignore him unfriend him and be done with it.
In order to disappear from his life you would have to unfriend him as Wolfgang said.
If you want to disappear from his life stop looking at his Facebook page and defriend him.
Unfriend him
..... as above ..... 100% :)
Just do it, you know you want to!
don't just de-friend - block him as well so that you see anything that he posts and he can't see you either
"you don't see"
I think you ought to ignore facebook if you let it influence your life in such a pathetic way.
He's your ex. Unfriend him. Don't look at his FB page and get on with your life.

Assuming you don't have children together
Yup - use the "pull off the plaster quickly" technique. It hurts much less in the end x
If you're snooping about his FB page and taking notice of his relationship status, you're obviously still bothered by him, so either tell him so or unfriend him if you can't just be platonic friends or at least stop caring about what he does.
Sounds like you still want to be with him but are denying it

When he gets a new bird he'll change his status from 'single' to 'in a relationship', again this will not be for your benefit

He's moved on, deal with it and do the same instaed of looking for things that aren't there

i wasn't snooping on his page, it came up on my news feed.
How pathetic. Get a life away from Facebook.

Facebook isn't my life at all!! i just looked at it for the first time in ages yesterday!!! I do have a busy life
So what's the real deal - you either stll have feelings for him, or you don't ??

If you do still have feelings, tell him, or if you can't tell him for whatever reason, then delete him and move on.
If you don't have feelings for him, delete him, sooner rather than later ...... and move on :)
Only you can decide and I wish you well whatever choice you make, take care. xx
I think you are still wanting him back, you'll be devastated if he finds someone else and changes his status back. Unfriend him now to save all the hassle later, and move on.
If you want to heal then stay away from Facebook. I'm not as harsh as andres but really FB should not be where grown-ups deal with their relationships.
