4 Answers
Hello,
I wonder if someone could give me and my partner a bit of advice please , we are having a terrible time for the past 2 years with his ex wife as they have 2 children, and now she is planning to move away and wont tell my partner where they are moving too hes only found out through friends and he pays maintance, and been a very good dad and she has just been impossible, we do have a solitor but its getting very expensive as she just causes trouble all the time and gets very nasty, any body with a bit of advice would be lovely as we are at our wits ends, so believe me its not just the men who treat ex partners bad some women are shocking .

There can be an order for no contact but in any child matters the court treats the child's welfare as paramount.
It depends on the circumstances as to how long it takes, if it is contested, if reports are made etc...
There are other means such as an injunction. If there are serious problems they may be able to be held "ex parte" ie without the other person there or represented eg in domestic violence cases.
It's probably best to speak to a solicitor (some firms do free legal surgeries or a free first interview) and they can help you more on the costs and timescales and whether the person is entitled to any legal help.
There are also other places that can provide help and support if there are any issues of violence and abuse. If you ring the Samaritans (http://www.samaritans.org.uk/) they should have all the relevant numbers.
Hope this helps x

Thanks nixnJay for your help, yeah my partner is divorced and he also has a contact order which he has for contact , which she hardly keeps too, he hardly gets to speak to the children even though we provided a mobile phon e which she has now took off the children, its so unfair as every time we go to court she basically lies her head off and saying she is keeping to the order and blaims my partner and because she is the woman they always side with her, i truely feel sorry for any men who are going through this and no wonder there is those people who do ' father's for justice '.......i totally understand where they are coming from....
Never an advocate of violence, but makes u wanna slap some sense into her doesn't it! The people she hurts most in all of this is the kids, but being to caught up in her own need for revenge, their needs get pushed aside. Keep diaries of times and dates, back them up with phone bills and resist the urge to stop maintenance and always keep trying to call! They wont be kids forever and will soon enough be able to make up their own minds. Long and drawnout process, not to mention costly, but if the worst comes to the worst, at least he can stand head held high, and prove that he always tried to make contact. Never a truer sentence....Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!! All the best! x
