I don't mean to sound rude, but why agree to it? I'd tell him I wasn't going to sit at home with the children whilst he went out and got lashed! If he's taken a week off work to spend with his children then that's what he should do. Tell him he's being unfair on them, and you!. I don't know how old they are but I'm sure they'll pick up on the fact that Daddy's not there. Good luck hun.xxX.
Lay down the law - tell him he either pulls his weight or you want to split up. Then the older boy would be his responsibility full time and maybe he would then appreciate all you do. No way would I put up with this! Good luck.
Do you really need to ask?

A man who doesn't spend quality time with his kids is no man at all.
Yikes - actions speak louder than words! Your heart must be sinking fast at the revealation that he is a selfish, uncaring, unloving git. As well as his actions destroying any love you may have for him, they are creating a toxic environment for your chidren. I would seriously consider your future here oldgrape and project 10 yrs into the future when circumstances are unchanged. How fulfilled will your life and your children's be? How much fun can he be to live with? Decide on your own life and don't hang around for him to change, if he thinks that how he is behaving is just fine and dandy!
I'd give him an ultimatum and make sure it's clear that you mean it. If he doesn't listen then, yeah, I'd leave because he is putting other things before his family and it's only going to get worse. xxxx
