Onwards and Downwards January 2012

Happy New Year to all of you and well done to everyone!!
I will be making no mention of how everyone may have slipped up over the festive season (including myself) but, instead, can anyone think of one positive thing about January to help us get over one of the most difficult months of the year.

Thanks for the welcome folks, will certainly be visiting on a regular basis. Everyone seems very positive and it's great to have support.

Hi - can anyone join in this thread? Jan, your weight loss is amazing! I'm trying to eat really sensibly as I have masses of weight to lose; I've lost 3lbs ince Christmas, but slipped up last night, but am back on track today, hopefully. I'm also watching the Biggest Loser on ITV and using that as to motivate me.
Thanks xstitcher and wendilla and welcome islasmum. Everyone is welcome here as it gives us all incentive to carry on. I've got another 5 stone at least to lose and know it is going to get harder as it goes on but am determined to get there. I've been watching The Biggest Loser too, although not watched last nights yet as I went out but will watch it soon. Just wish I could do some exercise like they do but as I have mobility problems can't do any. Well done on losing the 3lb so far, it all mounts up and any loss is good.
Welcome Islasmum this thread was started by Xstitcher nearly 2 years ago and I replied and it has escalated from there. We gain some we lose some but always welcome them back as we all fall by the wayside. I lost 2 stone in less than a year but over xmas have gained 4lb so it's back to healthy eating . Secret is plan your meals for the week and keep a diary of what you eat each day as this helps to sort your next weeks menus out. We just try and help each othe with idea.
I am back on my poo plan diet !!!...porridge for breakfast..no sugar mind...and as much fruit and/or veggies as you want..I also have one hard boiled egg for a bit of protein...never hungry...use a lot of loo rolls though !!!..it DOES work...only have to do it for 3 or 4 weeks to lose a fair old bit....
Hi Islasmum and welcome aboard to our jolly little club. I hope that we can help you and you can help us. Some of us are doing very well and others are on the naughty step which I must admit is getting quite crowded since Christmas..somebody's mum is there too for bringing some sinful food to her daughter who is trying to avoid temptation.
Onwards and downwards my hearties !!

I should be on the naughty step again. 2 lbs again ON. same as last week. Even though with traces of my cold still hanging in there, I decided to get back to Zumba straight after SW class. My knees and back aching a bit, but mentally I felt fantastic afterwards and now looking forward to Fri morning session as well. Ive missed it as I havnt been since Xmas week. Got to get back in shape for my biggie birthday end of FEB !!!
Welcome Islasmum x
I was doing really well until yesterday when I went to pick up Little Tiggs from my parents after work and found a whole load of Indian sweets in the fridge. Their neighbours son is getting married this evening and they had an Indian ceremony a couple of days ago and gave my parents a container full of Laddos, Burfi and another sweet that I don't know the name of. I went into the fridge to get Little Tigg's milk and found them!!! And being hungry as I was...................!

why is that whilst shopping in York on Sat, we had fish and chips and half lager at a lovely pub we know, and I lost 1 pound when weighing in on Sunday morning, YET on Sunday we went for a 7k walk, had a healthy chicken chasseur lunch and have put on over a pound this morning. I would really like to know how this works ! My OH is the same, so now at least, he understands how I feel. Got to get it down for Wednesday SW :>(
I thought I was doing ok in the 6 months since I started taking this more seriously. But I've just worked it out and I've averaged a measly 10½ ounces per week ! Worse, I measured my waist for the first time in absolutely ages and it has gone up 2" ! So wherever the weight has come from it's not from where I most want to lose it.
