Have to say a special THANK YOU to xsticher for those yummy recipes last month and thanks to maggiebee for the humorous poem.

March is a tough month, it can be easy to be good in January and February after the excesses of Christmas but keeping going can be tough.

Do you have any particular motivation tips we can share?

Here is last months thread

I keep thinking about the Ed's question of motivation. One good motivator that I think is VERY important is all of you. Your support and finger pointing when needed is very helpful for keeping on track. Thanks to the faithful few and onwards and downwards...it seems we have all been very good this week, so let's keep up the good work.

Just been reading over past posts and see that Wednesday is weigh-in day, so probably won't lose anything between now and then, but definitely next week. I am staying positive!!
It'll be a good idea to weigh on Wednesday and use that as our starting point Spotit3, then we can weigh again the follwoing week to see how we've done.
That's right spotup and welcome to the two new ones. If you would feel more comfortable weighing in on another day by all means feel free. We just come on here on Wed and tell how much we lost and most of us have found Wed. to be a good day to weigh in.
Welcome spotit3 and Maidup to our Onward and Downwards. Xstitcher started this about 2 years ago and I replied and we have gradually had a good turn out. Some have stayed some have gone but the good thing is a lot of tho se that have left us have come back .It has definately helped me. Our top loser at the moment is Jan 1957. She has gone through a difficult time since the loss of her husband but she is determined to carry on .Look forward to seeing you on Wed. My motto is cut out the fat and the crap and if you don't buy it you can't eat it. But not so easy with people with families.
Thank you Wendilla for the encouraging words. I am now on my own too since I lost myhusband four years ago so really I have no excuses.I do like to bake though I give most of it away but it is hard to resist the odd slice.I am dertermined, though, when I see how well others have done.
Baking bread used to be my hobby almost Spot, but I couldn't let it be so I have switched over to cross stitching which keeps me busy and my mind on other things.
A good day so far. I had to work today and part of my duties involved co-hosting a tea and cake party this afternoon. As host I aways used to eat cake with the guests and even go back for seconds or took a piece home for good measure!

But today I had a quick marmite sandwich before I went and resisted all the sweet stuff. I had an apple in the car on the way home and felt really good about it. :-)
well done . But don't skip your meals. Was the sandwich your lunch. I don't know if you read it but I have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruitjuice every morning and this helps to break up fat. Can't be taken with certain types of medication. I went to garage for a wispa choc bar I had in car for my grandson and as he was not feeling very well he didn't want it . I wish I had given it home with him as it worried me all evening till finally I ate it.Thats why I say if I don't buy it I can't eat it.
Oh damn that wispa bar wendi! Never mind, tomorrow's another day.

Yes the sandwich was my early lunch and I'm, about to cook an evening meal now. Good tip about the grapefruit juice. I like fruit in the mornings and am not one for tea or coffee until I get to work, so I'll give it a go.
Sounds like you did really well today, Maidup. I was out for lunch but didn't overeat and have had nothing sweet all day. Even refused a lovely slice of homemade sponge cake. Think I will mark the calendar as Day 1.
day2 now then spotit3. Good luck
Yes, TheOtherHalf.I have just finished a half hour walk with the dog. Earlier a friend gave me a tin of Roses and I almost weakened and opened them. Then I thought about having to come on here and confess so I have decided to give them away as a prize at our club tonight.
Oh do get rid of them and tell your friends what you want to accomplish so that they can support you and not lead you astray....
I agree with Xstitcher. They would worry me because I would not stop of 1 .
Well done spotit3. I'm forever deciding that I'll start this tomorrow and a tin of roses might have been my excuse to delay again! So well done for giving them away.

My day was good today, porridge for breakfast, salad for lunch and a jacket spud with baked beans and side salad for dinner, followed by yoghurt and cup of coffee. I had a walk round the town at lunchtime but working in an office, I do struggle to increase my levels of exercise. In a vane attempt to show willing, I purposefully went to the loos on the ground floor instead of the loos on my floor one level up!
Really pleased with myself. Shared the roses between all the members and didn't even eat one. Then helped with the tea and biscuits and managed to say no to those as well. Hope I can keep this up. Feel really good about it all now.
Using the stairs is good exercise, MaidUp. I used to do that too before I retired. You have done really well today, keep it up.
well done for effort spotit. Just keep thinking of how you would like to look by the summer. Miss slinky eh :>}
I think that the best feeling comes with seeing the dial on the scales going down. You have perhaps gone through the previous week thinking how hard things have been, but when the dial goes down suddenly your thinking changes to...how easy it was to loose that ........
Another idea. When you go to the supermarket pick up a few packs of lard and say to yourself wow was I carrying all that around .
