Onwards and Downwards Continues in August

Welcome to August's Onwards and Downwards. Welcome to any and all new members keep up the good work.

Summer holidays are here again and those of you with children or grandchildren at home it can be tricky to keep the snacking down. How do you plan to keep the little ones occupied and out of the pantry?

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

I've lost 2lb this week. Makes up for not losing any the week before. One of my friends at work bought a bag of double choc chip cookies from Sainsbury's yesterday and was offering them around. I said thank you but no thank you. Normally I can't resist a giant warm cookie but I did and I feel quite proud of that :o)

I've now lost 8lbs in 5/6 weeks.

Do I get to be first on this shiny new thread? On the minus side I didn't lose any weight this week but on the plus side I didn't gain any either. I thought I might have since I was out visiting yesterday and everywhere I looked there seemed to be irresistible food and my will power let me down badly! Tomorrow I am going on a bus tour so will probably be a little naughty then too but will hopefully get back to normal on Friday and perhaps lose a pound or two by next week. Hope the rest of you have all done well and no-one for the naughty stool.

yes, congratulations spotit!

Look at the positive you didn't gain so good for you.

Have fun tomorrow on the bus!
I'm posting on both threads as I'm delighted to be down by 1½lb this morning especially as this takes me to the next half stone milestone. That's 1½ stone since March, slowly but surely.

This week's success was down to no bread on a weekday(!), no cakes, puddings or biscuits and plenty of fruit and veg.

I'm working all day and evening, and unlikely to be back later so here's a little heart for all losers today. ♥
Reposting on the new thread as well.
Stayed the same but I feel I have been let off lightly as my grandson is here some days and he loves bacon rolls say no more. Also I am out to carvery for family dinner on Sunday. It's not so much the dinner it's the Eton Mess that just lands on the table.
Xstitcher I know you will do your best to rectify it but does put you off a bit when you know you have been good most of the time. Better luck next week.
Well done Maidup and I know if I keep off bread and biscuits for a week I can lose 2lbs easily so better get cracking again.
Well done to losers, especially to Maidup as you have the best loss so far. I've lost one pound this week (which is one of the three I put on on holiday).
Whoops OG had a best loss too. Well done!
Well done notafish and OG. MAIDUP you will get there by coming on here proves it.
Dreading going to Slimming World tonight as I weighed myself this morning and have put on a couple of pounds. And I was doing so well up till now. So I'm plonking myself firmly down on the naughty step.
:-(
Well done to Maidup though! Great result. x
Oops, didn't spot notafish there - well done to you as well. x
Thanks. As mentioned previously, I'm unsure why I'm going down at a reasonable rate now when I'm doing much the same as I always do when I'm usually achieving little. Although I have indulged occassionally (which should make faster loss less likely) but maybe my body is just responding to a few days sunshine ?
Well done all losers. Very pleased as after two weeks of staying the same and then putting on 2lb last week I have lost 3lb this week! Not expected at all but very welcome as it takes me to exactly 6st lost now. Taken 11 months and still another 4st to go but I'll get there. :-)
Jan you should be so proud of yourself . Hope you are saving up for all the new outfits you will need to buy. Big Big congrats to you.
Kiki you will rectify it . I am lucky I am not joining you so I have to be careful for next week
Jan I'm just full of awe WOW a total loss of 6 stone!!
Thanks Ed.........
Wow Jan that's fantastic. What an inspiration. I've stayed the same this week, but had two good weeks to start, so I'll just persevere with it. I think not being able to exercise after having a fall didn't help matters. No excuse for next week though. Well done to everyone who has lost. Fingers crossed I'll join you again next week.
Thanks wendilla, xstitcher and kacee. Good luck everyone for next week.
well done everyone! hope you don't mind me joining in -although i wish it was to tell you about a great weight loss, but, alas - my first week of slimming world resulted in a loss of half a pound..... quite disappointed really, but i'll stick with it and se how i get on next week. x
Hi All, thought I wouldn't make it to S W this week so let myself go a bit, but managed to stay the same. Any loss would get me to the next stone below, so lots of incentive. Well done to all, losers or otherwise, the support is what keeps me going, so thanks everyone!
Well done to OG, Maidup, Notafish and Jan. and Nini, half a pound off is better than nothing. To all those who, like me, stayed the same, let's all try harder this week. I intend to have fun on the bus, Ed. We go every year and always have great craic!
