Onwards and Downwards Continues in September

Hello all,

Onwards and Downwards welcomes any new members serious about losing weight and having some fun along the way.

Well, we didn't really have much of a summer and now autumn is almost upon us. Has anyone found it hard to keep their fingers out of the cookie jar whilst entertaining the little ones?

Please share your high and lows with us and we will support you.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Welcome Sophie I am sure you will get lots of tips from others but my plan is I eat healthily plenty of fish chicken plenty of veg with meals. Don't live on salads at every meal. Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas...

Good for you OG. I'm hoping to get off the naughty step this Wed. I think there are only 2 of us there at the moment. It certainly isn't as crowded as it has been...
I might need your place on that step xstitcher ..... I've just had a pizza slice and last night I had a slice of homemade cake. First piece of either in months and then I went and ate both in the same week!

Lets hope the ryvita lunch made up for it and I'll have to be really good now for the rest of the week.
Think I could be joining the rest of you on the naughty step this week. Have rather over indulged today and then someone gave me a box of Roses tonight and of course I couldn't resist the temptation to open them and have a few. Just hope I can resist the rest of them.And I had been doing so well and feeling so pleased with myself. Pride certainly comes before a fall!!

Lovely of them to give you Roses but if only they'd made it the real ones and not the chocolate ones :-)

Now go and seal the packet or the tin before you have anymore and think who you might give them to tomorrow! x
Me too. Several chocolate Celebrations and a chocolate cupcake, and a Chinese tonight. Will try to be good tomorrow. :-)

I had a hungry day today as well. I think I'm getting a cold though and that doesn't help. Two days to go before weigh in so enough time to right today's wrongs, I hope!
I have never had a sweet tooth UNTIL I stopped smoking 3½ years ago and now it has arrived with a vengance. Since I haven't had the problem before it is perhaps easier for me to keep it in check but last week I bought a bar of chili chocolate. I just wanted to taste the combination that I had heard so much about......not that great at all...and certainly not worth the naughty step.
Sweet tooth is my problem. They are selling the tins of sweets for less than half price. I am so tempted to buy but not going to as I thought the kids have plenty of sweets at xmas so why buy them for me to open .Thats how I look at it and it works. If there not there the temptation is not there. Good luck for tomorrow everyone.
Like you, Wendilla, I don't buy the sweets as I know I can't resist the tempation. It is only when someone buys them for me that I am a lost cause. I have now put them away until I can give them to some-one, hopefully before i give in to temptation again!

I just want to add that, that chocolate bar was the first I have ever bought in my life....have to start sometime :-) but won't be repeating the mistake.
I keep meaning to ask if there is anybody else on here that like me has had no weight problem until they stopped smoking???
Been stopped smoking nearly 15 years and no problem then as it use to be a cup of tea and a fag .Now it is a cup of tea and a biscuit or 2 or 3 .

Whee, I'm off the naughty step...down 1 pound, that chili chocolate bar is going to hang in there or else it would be more I'm sure. I hope it goes well with the rest of you lovely people out there.
Well done Xstitcher. I have stayed the same which I am ok with as not been 100%. I will do better now when I stop the salads and get on to more soups and veg meals now it is getting cooler.
Yesterday I was on course for staying the same. Had a good day (intake wise) ending very fractionally under target. And I'm rewarded with a ¾ lb rise for the week and for the last 24 hours :-(

Ah well it's been a good run over the last few weeks, had to stop sometime I suppose.

I tend to eat biscuits in threes; twos if they are a 'heavy' biscuit type, it stops me chomping on and on. That's fine isn't it ?
I am so happy to find I have lost ½lb even after my fall from grace. Congrats to all who have lost or even stayed the same and better going this week to anyone who has gained. You have 7 days to lost it again and more!
Yes Spotit I don't mind if I stay the same when I know I have not been 100% but it does help you to go for it better for next week. Good on your loss.
