Onwards and Downwards Continues in September

Hello all,

Onwards and Downwards welcomes any new members serious about losing weight and having some fun along the way.

Well, we didn't really have much of a summer and now autumn is almost upon us. Has anyone found it hard to keep their fingers out of the cookie jar whilst entertaining the little ones?

Please share your high and lows with us and we will support you.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Welcome Sophie I am sure you will get lots of tips from others but my plan is I eat healthily plenty of fish chicken plenty of veg with meals. Don't live on salads at every meal. Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas...

I've put on half a pound, I don't mind as I was expecting it. I will do better next week. Well done to the losers! OG I think it must be the biscuits that's our downfall. I'm not going to have any biscuits all week now. If I do, I'll come on here and 'fess up. :-)
Notafish. Too come on here and confess you are there for next weeks weigh in of a loss. Not so bad when you expect it .It is when you have been good and gained that is disheartening . Good luck for next week. Yes OG like me it's the biscuits.

Well done to everyone who's lost. I managed 1lb this week. I doubt that would have happened if I'd have eaten those Giant Milky Bar buttons at the weekend. OG, I wish I could stop at just 2 or 3 biscuits but as I don't always have the willpower, biscuits are rare in our house. Good luck everyone for next week. :)
Well done Kacee. I just don't buy them but I have bought some large tins of cadbury choc biscuits. And the tinned sweets. But I won't touch them or I will have to buy them all over again and they won't be half price again.
Well done to all the losers! Put on 1lb this time, not a surprise, NS it's the biscuits for me too. I really must just stop buying them,as sticking to one or two simply does not happen! Move over on the naughty step please, or have I got it to myself?
I think you are sharing it with Nota fish . Not quite sure if AG managed to stay off as he was swinging on and off that way. Good luck for next week as I say it can be rectified.
Make more room on the naughty step please as 1lb on for me too. I know why too so will definitely be trying harder this week. Got a date for the next operation on my ankle, 21st November, so want to lose another stone by then. Back to the books I think!

Hi everyone, and well done to all you losers this week.

I've been all over the place this week, including a day working in London and a couple of nights out, but I've tried hard not to let it send me off course too much. I did miss weighing in on Wednesday as I was on the 7am train and it slipped my mind, but I'll check in the morning and post later - fingers crossed!
It's good to have a date Jan. It stops the waiting and wondering. You have done so well so I am sure that you can loose that stone. We're all rooting for you. Will you have to stay in the hospital long?
I hope your weigh in is positive spotit. Having to eat out kills my resolve so I hope yours was stronger than mine.

Thankfully I was 1/2lb down this morning, but I do need a kick start as I can't seem to get going on this next stone.

1/2lb is better than gaining I know, but September is flying by and I have only really kept myself off the naughty step so far this month. Off to decide what my real weaknesses have been and what has stopped me losing a few pounds. I might be back to ask you all for some help later!
Thanks wendilla and xstitcher. Yes it is good to have a date, even if it has been delayed until November, but at least I can make plans now. Should be in hospital for about a week and the weighing will have to be put on hold while I am in plaster and non-weightbearing. Just hope that won't put me off track. Good luck all for next week.

I've lost 1lb this week despite a sneaky quarter pounder with cheese, fries and a McFlurry last Sunday!
How do you do it Tigger? Please tell me your secret.....
If I knew how I did it, I'd bottle it up and sell it, lol

Seriously though, I use the Food Focus website and record all the calories I take in. I hardly ever go over 1400 (apart from the MaccyDs last Sunday when I went up to 1700). I'm allowed 1750 for my age and height if I want to maintain my weight.
