Anyone managed to resist the Halloween treats? Don't suppose the kids wanted a banana instead did they :-).
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

If you must take a break trigger, my advice is to try not to go in reverse looking for comfort. Catch you here when you get back then ;-)

Brilliant results, Daffy and Jan. You too xstitcher. Like yourself, wendilla, I stayed the same, for the second week running for me. I think I am on the slippery slope as I found this week really difficult and I thought I was doing so well. Hope tigger gets all sorted and is back with us before too long.
Woohooo, I've lost 2lb and am finally on the move again.
To recap, I lost 2 stone during the spring/summer and then got stuck, not gaining but not losing. At last I've managed a loss and am delighted.
This week I bought double the amount of fruit, especially things that I could pick on like grapes, satsumas and plums; I switched to Frylight for roasting and I also renewed my no bread vows.
So don't give up folks (well DO give up the maltesers spotit3, you did make me laugh) and give it one more extra effort before Christmas.
(((Hugs to Trigger, hope to see you here again soon )))

I've certainly found the change in weather very trying spotit3. I am hungry more often and seem to be living with a constant longing for comfort foods. We do need more food in the winter to keep us warm and the enregy levels up, so I have tried to fill up with porridge, rice, jacket potaotes and lots of extra veg.
As the others always tell us on here, if you don't buy it you can't eat it. A very good tip.
Stock up again on ryvita, rice cakes, eggs, beans, fruit, veg, and for comfort food make a nice stew which you can dip into after a cold walk. Chin up spotit3 you've done really well so far.

I know how you feel spotit. It isn't as easy as one would think to get focused again when your resolve has gone on holidays. How about trying a new approach for instance planning your meals and 2 snacks a day on paper and then shopping after that. At the moment that is working for me. Do be careful with your fruit. I love it but only have it as a dessert. My snacks consist of a rusk with 3% fat cream cheese and a handful of pumkin seeds that I buy. They have a lovely nutty taste. Always check the fat content etc when you buy prepared snacks. I found some 2½ inch prepacked cakes that are quite acceptable, but they taste like more so have not bought them again.
Spot it just look at it this way they say they are the sweets with the less fattening centres.
Jan well done hope your op goes ok.
Maid up this is what happening to me I stay the same for a few weeks even though I have been good.
Well done Kacee a 1lb in the right direction.
OG I think I will have to double recharge my batteries and see if my scales reads any different lol.
good luck all for next week.

Four years ago, I lost over 4 stone for my daughters wedding. I think that I have done very well, in that it has taken me all this time to put three of them back on :-(
Four weeks ago, I started again. I have lost 20lbs, which is excellent (I know you always lose more at first). I weigh myself on Saturday mornings, instead if Mondays, it seems to give me the heart to stick at it over the weekend!
My intention was to lose 2st before Christmas, then another one before we return to Tenerife in February. Thinking about my Canarian friends' faces when they see me is keeping me going!

Hello LyndaB and welcome to our group. I noticed on another post that you were told you were losing too much too quick but I agree you do lose quite a lot the first couple of weeks but be very careful as the quicker you get it off the faster it will go back on. You certainly have something to aim for. Good luck and as Xstitcher asked have you got any tips to help others as this is what we try to do on these posts and also have a good old moan to get it off our chests if we have been naughty eating wise. It is all about healthy eating and planning your meals for the week and writing everything down so as you see where you go wrong.
I am an expert dieter. If only I was so expert at keeping it off! I've lost that much weight over the years that you could probably dangle me from a charm bracelet! I'm not losing it for any particular reason, my daughters wedding was 4 years ago and I did it then so I would be happy to look at the photos (which I am). It's just that it was so very hot in holiday (unseasonably warm even for Tenerife) that I was uncomfortable in the bar at night, and I don't want that to feel like that ever again.
I'm not following any particular diet, I find that a recipe for disaster. I have a banana and a couple of satsumas first thing in the morning, then porridge at 10am, then usually nothing until about 7pm, when I will have a usual meal, but I try to limit the amount cream, oil and butter in my recipes. And I always had a few bottles of Budweiser at night too, which I feel is the main culprit. I've given that up altogether (although not for ever, I'm not strong willed enough to do that, even if I wanted to). I relax a bit at weekend so I don't feel too deprived - last night we had a dine-in-for-£10 meal from M&S, and tonight I'm doing roast beef with all the trimmings and a dessert of some kind! But instead if having loads of beef, I will have just a couple of slices with loads of veg. And NO BUTTER in the mash lol!

Hi Lyndab you are certainly on the right track for losing. I never skip a roast Sunday dinner But that is mostly eating out apart from when the kids come for dinner. All in all since being on here I have lost 2 stone but I am struggling with 8lbs of gain again. My problem I stay the same for a few weeks but like you I know how to do it it is just keeping it up. Xstitcher started this post over 2 years ago and I replied and since then the Ed renews our posts each month. Hope you will stay with us and achieve your gaol. Mine is half a stone before Xmas and a bit more will be a bonus.
