Onwards and Downwards Continues in February 2013
Hello all,
Welcome to February, I hope that those of you who were on a strict post Christmas diet have had some great results, and relaxed just a little.
Look out just around the corner is Valentine's Day! Save the chocs and dinner out and spend the money on a spa day or movie evening with the OH instead. Any other ideas?
We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

I know the feeling LYnda; sometimes the harder you try the less you shift. I got "stuck " for a couple of weeks after Christmas not lossing anything much and I think its down to the weather. Our bodies holding on to it for warmth! Try a change of menu. If you're eating similar meals on a regular basis see if you can think of something different. We're trying sweet...

Thanks for the welcome - I'd love to eat chicken and fish etc, but hubby is vegetarian and fussy with it. Main meals are a little restrictive. I generally have porridge or toast for breakfast, soup and bread for lunch, then whatever I can persuade hubby to eat for dinner. He's a lot more active than me so I can't be too restrictive with him or he'll waste away.
I also have a fussy OH Taichi so you have my sympathies. Quite often my meals are left overs so that is easy but more often than not I am doing two eveing meals..his and hers. It sounds like a big job but when you get into it you will find you can pick and mix quite often with his veggie casserole being my side plate of veggies. He can do his own thing at the weekends if he wants to. Good luck. It isn't a perfect solution but it is workable.

Morning all, 1 1/2lbs down today which is pleasing.
We're both vegetarian taichiperson, although OH can eat huge portions plus cakes and biscuits and not gain a pound. So we have good low fat meals such as sherpherdess pie (lentils instead of mince), butter bean casserole, pasta, cauliflower cheese and green beans etc. More salads and stir fries in the summer with an egg or some cashews for added protein. Then he can have his cakes and biscuits in between meals or chips for lunch when he's out and I have extra fruit and yoghurts.
Be careful with the cheese and do your best to cut out bread, that was the biggest step change for me. I'd been a bread addict all my life and didn't think I could do that but I now have only a couple of slices a week as a treat.
I hop its a good day for everyone and Onwards and Downwards.
