Regarding 2014/15 tax return. If someone put in a mileage of 7500 work related (getting to and returning home) What is the amount of tax rebate should they expect.

Yes, the mileage first of all has to qualify and normally ho e to work mileage doesn't qualify unless it's to one or more temporary places of work.
If your employers pays nothing, or something less than 45p a mile, you can claim tax relief on the difference.
The best you can get is if the employer pays nothing in mileage allowance. You can then claim relief on 7500 x 45p = £3375. If your marginal rate is 20% that's worth £675
