I am not interested in a mobility scooter, as I am quite happy at home, with my computer, TV, see my daughter & grandson, friends who pop in for a chat, and most of my shopping I can do on-line.
I am also not interested in joining any Day Centres, or clubs to chat about the old times over a cup of coffee etc :-).

I see. From your earlier post regarding your receipt of 'lower attendance allowance' in conjunction with your opening post about mobility money I wrongly assumed you get DLA.
This is because DLA consists of a carers component and a mobility component. I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Being in receipt of Attendance Allowance does not entitle you to 'mobility money' or a car.

Isn't there an age restriction in applications for PIP, or am I also confused?

As stated, you definitely cannot get either a mobility car or mobility allowance on Attendance Allowance. However, if you haven't already got one, you can apply for a Blue Badge through your County Council. You can apply online or ring the Blue Badge department at your council area. You will not get one automatically as you do not qualify for mobility allowance so either your council will organise a walking test or you may need a letter from your GP. Different councils have their own ways as to how they judge your entitlement. See link below.

As I said get the CAB benefit advisor to do the appeal over attendance allowance for you. They have a much higher success rate than doing it yourself and it is free.
As an example we tried 3x to get DLA for my wife and were refused every time. Then we got a CAB advisor to do the application for us, we got the full benefit paid in just 5 days and a 6 month backdated payment !!

Hi trt. Still worth seeing CAB. To get high rate AA, you should need the help during the night not necessarilly be getting it to stand a chance of getting the benefit so if you are on your own you may struggle to manage but do so. It doesn't mean that you stand no chance of getting the increase. CAB will go through it with you to see whether they think you can get the higher amount. They know how to answer the questions best as you might underestimate the help you need. Obviously we do not know your personal circumstances but good luck anyway.
