Income From Taxable Allowance?

Hi i am trying to help a friend fill in a NHS student bursary form (this part relates to the parents income)

i am struggling with the above question.

Here's the scenario. Daddy gives child regular amounts of money. Daddy's accountant wangles things so that it comes off Daddy's highly taxed income and is taxed as that of child.

If that's not the case, the answer is zero.
