i will turn 66 at the end of the year, and qualify for state pension, do you have to be on a low income to get Pension Credit, how does it work... anyone help would be much appreciated
A find gov.uk is good for these. Also age.uk https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit-calculator Or here if you want it in a proper language https://www.gov.uk/credyd-pensiwn It top's income up from your state pension to £173.75 if your single. Savings can effect it tho.
I don't know the figures but if you get more than just the state pension you probably won't qualify. If you google pension credit there is a calculator which tells you how much you are likely to get or not.
No a think the £134 is for peopel who get it now based on fewer qualifying year's. https://www.gov.uk/new-state-pension. Itll depend on your enticlement. But whatever, itll still be rounded up to the new £173.75 a think. The calculater should tell you exacly
looks like i am eligible, have to provide bank statements and copy of
my private small pension, but that's it. she wouldn't tell me how much, but at least it means a little bit more in the state pension pot.
I've just sent off a paper application...retroactive to when I phoned them a few weeks ago.
I was going to apply shortly after I stopped working, but lockdown complicated things and phone lines were jammed. I'll let you know how it goes.
do that pasta, i spoke with an agent at the DWP who was most helpful, will have to submit bank statement and proof of my small personal pension and that's it.
I do have savings, but one benefit will shut off at the end of the year, when i turn 66. i am prudent in my buying, but also give a lot away, as i have done again to Shelter the charity.
its my one vice LB, i don't go out much, don't smoke, don't have near family, except those in Sussex, 70 odd miles down the road, so my outgoings are really quite small compared to families.....
Errr - if you're prudent in your buying, how come you have so much stuff to give away? When I get rid of any clothes it's because they're only fit for the textile bank, not a charity shop.
