Abbey, do you think there will ever come a point when you stop hiding things, big things, from your mum? Your financial problems are getting worse with every passing week, I don't think you can keep up your pretence much longer. You say you are worried about your mental health, but part of that must be because you have got so used to lies and evasions, your head must be spinning at times!

The best mothers' day gift you can give your mother is to tell her truth about everything today, so together you can start afresh, set realistic goals and get the mess sorted out. You'll be happier, your mum will know what's going on and you can still have a nice Sunday together, whether that's high tea or beans on toast at home.

I got the money in my purse but that's it. No I had no idea as I had direct debits coming out and paying her rent

Abbey, just lose your deposit and tell your mum you'll get her something when you get paid. If you can't afford it there's no point fretting over it.

You say your last pay day was 2 weeks ago. Surely you mean 9 days ago.

The deposit has already been spent so there's nothing you can do. But you can cancel and save paying the balance. But you'd have to tell your Mum and explain. You need to tell her you've only been working 17 hours a week, not the full time hours you've been pretending to work.
