Is it more secure for me to access my personal bank accounts from my work computer than my home laptop. I work for a global financial institution, though obviously not on the IT side?

Far more secure from home.

Make sure you have your firewall in place. Safer still if you use a wireless router.

Run your spyware regularly and don't click any links in emails. :)
If you do have a wireless router make sure it is secure also. To be honest when you connect to a bank site it will be via https and therefore even if the wireless network is not secured people won't be able to see what you are sending.
i always thing it's far safer to assume that your work is monitoring your internet usage/telephone calls, even if they are not. I would say efinately home
A *wireless* router is potentially less safe than connecting by ethernet cable (or USB). Connecting via a router is safer than just via a (broadband) modem.
Either way, the info sent should be encrypted (as mentioned : the https ) but everything you do online at work is probably logged.
Safer at home with the correct setup
Work is probably more secure from the outside world but you've got a large number of insiders starting with your IT department to contend with. Do you trust every last one of them?

As long as your home computer has up to date anti-virus and firewall protection, use that.
