Irish money

10 Answers
I have a �10 & a �5 Irish note. Are they legal tender in England. They have Sterling written across the front. Will I beable to pay them into the Abbey.

You can pay them into a bank or buidling society but most shops won't accept them.

Reminds me of the time I lived in NI and sent some money over to my daughter. She went to pay it into the bank and the girl who dealt with her said that she would have to check the exchange rates! As you say it's got sterling written all over it!
It was even worse when banking with Midland Bank paid in some Northern Bank notes and told to go to foreign dept. At the time Northern Bank was wholly owned by Midland.
