My boyfried has loads of telephone calls from debt companies asking if he wants to consolodate his debts. He has no debts, however, his ex wife has alot. Two years ago he had a credit report from experian, it showed she had aplied for credit in his name. He sent a letter to disassociate himself from her name and address, however, i am concerned with the amount of phonecalls that he has, that she has used his name, and phone number to obtain credit, and that's why he is been harrassed by the companies.

Get a new credit report, you can often get a free trial. If something is amiss, then obviously it needs looking into further.

If everything is clear, sign up with the TPS to stop the calls

Maybe his name was on a list from before that has only just been sold on.
He needs to contact all of the main credit reference agencies, Call credit and Equifax not just Experian, to check his credit record to make sure he has no unknown credit. He then needs to send the disassociation to the other two. Experian is popular with landlords and employers, whereas the other two are more widely used by lenders such as banks.

Definitely get the police involved if his name is being used. One, because it is fraud. Two, because he needs to have a formal record of it being nothing to do with him or it could cause problems in the future trying to secure any credit, e.g. mortgage, small business loan, which could be seriously life changing.
