Grandson's Toilet Problem.

We look after our 3 year old grandson a couple of times a week and it is worrying us that when he uses his potty he is producing enormous 'poos'.
Can't believe that such a little bottom could pass anything like this. He has fairly recently become more or less 'potty trained' Doesn't like using the toilet. For three days he is in nursery for 11 hours a day! and has a baby brother of 9 months. He was quite distressed today - passing a lot of wind and straining quite a lot. When he is here he has lots of fruit and veg and has a good appetite and drinks a lot. Don't want to appear as over-anxious grandparents but after having three boys of our own have never seen anything like these giant 'poos'. Sorry for the indelicacy of the question but can't find anything on the net.

My son was, and still is, the same. Is he going regular?
My granddaughter is the same, she will not 'go' for days then when she does it is very large. The doctor says that as long as she is not in pain not to worry, he has prescribed Lactulose which she has to take twice a day to help her 'go' more often and soften the poos.

thank you EDDIES51 and ummmm for your swift replies
My 3yo g/son on lactulose too.
What goes in, must come out.
How old is your son Ummmm - and are you still watching his poos LOL Conne I am figuring your son is in his teens.
He's 17 and he tells us about them. He's blocked up the toilet before.
have you tried a baby seat that fits over a toilet makes them feel safer .
omg ummmm - that is indelicate.
Why?
Ummmmm my step son does that too, or leaves the evidence for the next poor soul. With regard to cheatgal's grandson, might he be dehydrated when not with you ? Bless him, I bet it is uncomfortable to pass.
In a way I envy your son and grandson's poos as I only produce water TMI. - have an appointment with my doctor end of month. I don't believe he will help me as another doctor suggested Imodium which I try to avoid as I believe they dry you up too much.
He only discusses it with us when he hasn't been for a long time. He doesn't talk about his No2's in general :-)
I guess Ummmm - according to teenagers you are lucky he "talks" to you as the majority of "mutter"

I'd be more concerned that he's still on the potty at 3!
I wouldn't be concerned about that at all.

It is called "Scatology" so in Body&Soul is quite appropriate.;-)

Sorry that your post was removed, it brought a smile to my face amidst a post that needed perhaps a post such as yours.

I must be honest and say that I would be worried should a 17year old son of mine describes his feaces in that detail.
