Birthday gift for 17 year old boy
6 Answers
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do a girl a MASSIVE favour...
So my boyfriend and I have been together for 4, soon to be 5 months and his birthday is coming up. I want to get him something special as it is the first birthday that I have been around but also because he got my something lovely for my birthday and I need to emulate him (!), but I am on pocket money budget and have a limited idea of what to get him.
He's going to be seventeen; he's into old metal bands (GnR, ACDC, Iron Maiden etc) and is a bit of a computer nerd (ok, a lot of a computer nerd...). He's one of those incredibly irriting people who you can't buy general gifts for because you know they won't appreciate them (normally I have to say this wouldn't bother me, but as it's him I vowed to actually make an effort). He also reads a lot of techno type books, computers and such, one he like at the moment is called "How To Steal Someone's Identity" (hopefully not as fraudulant as it sounds), anyone know any similar books? Any ideas?! Anyone know why I am dating someone so difficult?!??!

www.buyagift.co.uk. They also have a message in a bottle etc etc.
If he's really into computers, I would suggest against getting him anything computer orientated, especially if you're NOT into computers, as you'd probably get the wrong thing, and these computer nerds have seen it all before etc etc.
How about a trip to game expo, or if you can, a trip to see a tribute band to one of his faves.
Good luck, whatever you choose!

this site has some cool computer nerd t-shirts and things. My son is 18 and I have bought things from here for him and he was very pleased with them. They are a bit different and not to badly priced either. http://www.cashncarrion.co.uk/
How about one of the popular new "old fashioned" modern technology torches which are all the rage and which cost around 10. They have no light bulbs or batteries so will literally last a lifetime but you wind them up for 30 seconds and they provide about 30 minutes of light. You can get them in gadget shops and from Robert Dyas and can also get them off the internet. (Try Googling "Wind up torches and you'll probably find a lot of websites selling them).
Unless he is into unique and bizzare but fun gifts, dont bother to visit this site.
