think my daughter is getting chicken pox, shes been around children which have had it a couple of weeks ago, last few days shes had a snotty nose and not really been herself ust want to lay down and rest and today she has got a few spots on her face and on one of her arms, how long does it take for them all to come out if she does have it? could be bites, im not sure... more importantly if she gets it now can she still fly if the spots have scabbed over? 18 days until we go on holiday!

In my experience there was just one sleep between no spots and blisters all over. The next phase is individual - my boy waunning around laughing and only had a few blisters that scabbed quickly, the girl was really badly with huge blisters and very run down - but once the scabs set it they dropped off very quickly. I'd have thought 18 days was loads of time.

Sqad?
I agree with Mosaic, it certainly sounds like chicken pox and if she takes the "usual "course of the disease then 18days should be fine.

are there any places on the body they normally start? ust bathed her and there is a few on her feet, really hope she doesnt get it bad if it is that been waiting for this holiday for the whole year lol, is it contageious until the spots scab over?
Chicken pox usually starts on the stomach and moves outwards...arms, legs and face. It is most contagiousness before the "blebs" form and then "peters out"within the next few days.

You will be fine by then so dont worry. My son and the 2 girls I care for all had it a few months back and they were all scabbed over and back to normal between 5 and 10 days.
They all started on the stomach though and were still getting more 3 days after first appeared.

Kids can get it really mildly and have very few spots too so if any of hers blister then crust over it still maybe chickenpox after all!
