Mums, Dads, & Grandparents.........
Your opinions please.
I have been having a friendly banter with my daughter 40yrs (modern mum) who has been a Health Visitor for 15, with my 4yr old grandson.
Last week they came over to my place, and she had painted her nails with a new red shade, and he had blue nails.
I laughed and said, are you trying to make him gay, and she said he asked her because he watched her doing hers.
We got into a discussion, and she said I was old fashioned, (she calls me grumps by the way), and that there was no harm, and children have to experiment, as he would probably do it himself if she wasn't looking.
I didn't agree, and she said, ask you friends on A/B, and see what they say, so I have!
I think I am right, what do you think?

Yes I do Bath, and thought the same a few times the past week or two because of your name.
Was it called something like ''chatterbox'', as there were only a few people on it, and think it was a kind of breakaway group from some other chat room.

Since he asked then I see no big issue with it. If his peers at pre-school react adversely he will decide on his own that it isn't for him again. Until then he isn't to know it is considered a female activity in this country. (Darned sexist if you ask me.) Not that I'd encourage it, I think it might encourage effeminate habits, which could affect his path in life as folk react to that, but at that age I'd simply not react to it. I think it'll be a short term interest, doing like mummy does.
Well, none of our 4 boys have asked for their nails to be painted and as far as I know, none of the grandsons. If they had of asked, they would have got a clip around the ear.

\\\Why on earth would anyone think that you can 'make someone gay'?\\
So you think that they were born gay? You may be right, but if one was to postulate about the factors, then surely painting a little boy's fingers red might well be discussed.

I thought that recent research had demonstrated that sexual orientation is hardwired and not subject to external influence?

\\\\However, Sanders does not claim to have identified a single gene which ‘causes’ male homosexuality in humans and stresses that with complex human traits like sexual orientation there are many influencing factors, both genetic and environmental.\\\
That is from your link.......all i said to ladyalex was that we didn't know what caused "Sex confusion" (my term) and that treating young males like young females may contribute................that is all.
