just picking up on Blyss thread about the said mentioned above, it is clear that '' The thing'' is idolised by some on this site.

I am not one of these fans, and can't stand the bloke.

I can't believe people on here are soooooooo in love with him, are some of you present or ex druggies. this is not a personal dig at people that do have a ''REAL DRUG PROBLEM'' the majority of people that dappled in drugs do it because they believe it is socially exceptable, and i'm being one of the lads.

So my question is,

Has pete doherty got an illness{might have now} or was it as i suspect like the majority of other users, self inflicted.

Addiction of any shape and form is an illness, whether you like it or not. Even although you think i'm one of the ones who 'idolise' Pete, I don't condone what he does, but still think he needs help. If he's willing to take the help offered and try and overcome his addiction, then I wish him well.

When he 1st took drugs, was it an illness then {i think not}
he like the majority in the fame game though they were cool and part of the celeb establishment, god look at me people i,m famous and take drugs,

Smoking your first cigarette doesn't make you an addict either, but try giving it up years down the line when it's got a hold over you. Too late, it's become an addiction.

So when he first shot up, no, it wasn't an addiction, but it quickly became one. Yes the lifestyle he leads has a lot to do with it, as has the company he keeps.

All i've said all along is that I wish him well in overcoming his addiction. What's so ****** wrong with saying that? Does that make me a bad person now, just because my opinion differs from yours laurence2?

Gill, i don't want to argue with you, your view is respected like mind should be, if we all agreed on the same things would'nt life be boring.

Its not about me forcing an opinion on you or anyone else for that matter, i respect people for standing up for what they believe is right or wrong.

My apologies if i was hasty in saying you might be a present/ex drug user, experience{thats mine} tells me that patterns develope when debates go on like this, but the only evidence i have to back this up are people who i know who are in the music/drug scene
