My husband and I are expecting our first baby in the spring this year, and we are hoping to take a family holiday to New York at Christmas time. We are unsure if we would be best booking self catering/apartment type accommodation rather than a hotel. My main concern is sterilising bottles for the baby how would I sterilise if I was in a hotel room? Can I get disposable bottles or pre made formula etc. Also I am not too sure of the demands an 8-9 month old baby would put on a holiday i.e. how often would it need feeding? Would it be just on bottles or would it have started to eat proper food? I am trying not to be a neurotic first time mother, but I can't help wondering if this type of holiday would be practical with a baby I need some advice useful from mums in the know before we can book!

Hello Keatsel, I would say, if sterilising your babys bottles is your main concern, perhaps you could ring round a few hotels of your choice & ask how they could help you with this. Newborn babys tend to sleep lot's! It would be a shame not to relax & enjoy the occasion of having your meals made for you ect... ect...
