I'm a new grandparent, and thinking of getting a baby bouncer chair, for my house, when baby visits, but there are so many to choose from, can anyone recommend a good one, for newborn upwards?
I've looked at Mamas and Papas Sereno and Chico soft relax, but my brain hurts.
Thanks

I dont think you will find a bouncer for a newborn as they wont be able to their head up whilst the baby is in it. I bought a tigger one for my son he ould use from 3months old and the tigger talks when he bounces. You can get them from ebay or argos.
Im wondering if you have got muddled on what type of bouncer sharon is referring to. I used a baby bouncer for my daughter from birth as most come with a head hugger to support babys head.

sharon, I have found that different babys like different things. Some are happy in a chair that bounces, some have ones that rock or vibrate. I used a bouncing chair with my daughter and she loved it and was very content to sit in it for long lengths of time. I would have got another one for my baby due soon but have been given a vibrating rocking chair by a friend so will give that a try instead. Buy whatever you feel would be most suitable and congratulations on becoming a grandmum!
I used a Mamas and Papas one for my girls. The thing I liked about it was it had lots of different height settings so if I had to feed both girls at once on my own I could sit them up and feed them in their chair; then if they fell asleep I could adjust it so they were lying more or less flat.
It was suitable for newborn. Can't remember the exact name but it was a pale yellow checked pattern.

Hi,
Thank you for your good wishes, and good luck with your expected new arrival :-)
Yes, I was looking at the ones with a head hugger, but it does seem like a minefield, as baby might not like the vibrations etc , but Baby Bjorn seem quite popular. I'm trying to find some reviews. The Mammas and Pappas Sereno rocking one is probably top of my list today.
i have a fisher price rainforest rocker, i got it for my daughter when she was 2weeks old, it was expensive at 99.99 but it is brilliant, she is now 8months old and have only just stopped using it as she is too big for ut.
its a rocker with batteries (the betteries last ages, i have only replaced them once) it has a moobile that flips down and goesround, it also plays music and rainforest sounds. i highly recomend it.

Hi Gem,

I've actually bought the Fisher price Aquarium take along swing, which is a smaller version, which we use when baby visits, and she loves it, but the parents have borrowed the same one as you have, and they say that it's a godsend.
We'll be loking for bouncers next, door or otherwise :-)
