How soon is too soon?
My frined is having her 2nd baby in Feb and its also her birthday in Feb so she wants to get together with friends and go out. The thing is the day she wants to go out is only 5 days after her due date. Her first child was early but really doesnt make any difference. Im just a bit unsure that she will be up to it even if the birth does go smoothly and she has baby on time. What do you think? Not having any children of my own I dont know how people feel after giving bith. Thanks

How an earth can you plan a night out when you've got no idea when the baby will arrive? She might be giving birth on the night in question or have to have an emergency C section and be layed up for weeks. There is no way of knowing until the baby arrives! Even if the baby did arrive on time you cannot say for definite how you are going to feel afterwards. I know I was really hormonal and upset at that time after giving birth not to mention sore! It would have been the last thing on my mind going out. I also wouldn't have wanted to leave my precious baby so soon either. My advice would be to wait and see what happens and when she knows she feels able plan a fab night out then!
most babies dont arrive on time anyway so i wouldnt stress about it too much as chances are she will probably still be pregnant. If she has had the baby then then she would be silly to go out, there no harm going out with the girls for a meal or something but if its for a night on the **** then she is having a laugh if you ask me. After the birth of my two i certainly did not want to go out, i was sore, bruised and bleeding and not to mention absolutely knackerd.
when it comes round to it i doubt she will want to go out
1) she wont want to leave her new born
2) she will be bleeding heavily
3) she might be pregant or in hosp
as long as shes not spending money booking anywhere etc just leae her be when it comes to suggest a late birthday celebration at easter or something

I really don't think it's a good idea. There is a chance that she may be pregnant / labouring / giving birth on that day. Less than 10% of babies are born on their 'due' date, which means that about 45% arrive 'early' and 45% arrive 'late'. Just because her first was early absolutely doesn't mean that her second will be.
Apart from that, as has already been mentioned, she really may not feel up to going out that soon after giving birth. She may well have felt fine five days after having her previous child, but every birth experience is so different there's no way of telling how she's going to feel this time round.
I'd say leave it and book something once the baby's arrived and she's feeling well enough to go out.
