Symptons
Hi all. I am 5 weeks pregnant and have noticed some spotting over the last 3 days. I have read that it does happen at this early stage, however I am really worried as 3 of my friends have recently miscarried.I dont want to think the worst as I know this could make matters worse for me. I have also been told that there is no point in going to the doctors as they cannot do anything at this early stage, can anyone give any advise? Also i have been experiencing a tight chest sometimes, has anyone felt this before? Many thanks in advance x

I think you are going to need to put your friends unfortunate miscarriages out of your head for a while or you are going to drive yourself insane! The spotting is normal. If you start bleeding heavy and have very bad pains..........contact your doctor/hospital...........keep in mind though you will get some mild aches like cramping due to your body changing in preperation for the growing baby.
Relax and take good care of yourself.........good luck :)

you could just be getting what is called an implantation bleed. Not everyone gets it and you dont get it with every pregnancy. As Psychick said your uterus is growing so although you may think the worst I wouldn't worry unless your in agony. Your doctor wont help unfortunately all you can do is put your feet up and try to relax.
As for palpitations I have had them all through this pregnancy. Your metabolism and heart rate will increase as it is working twice as hard as normal, you may find your self out of breath all the time as well.
Try not to worry and take care. x

Hi There,
Just to let you know that I spotted from around 5 - 11 weeks of my pregnancy. I went to my local EPU who scanned me early and everything was fine. They said some pople just do bleed a little - no apparent reason why.
Just to warn you, they were not very reassuring throughout the process, but in the end knowing for sure really put my mind at rest. If you are still spotting now I would go to your GP or EPU and get them to check you out.
Good luck
