I just found out 2 days ago (on the day my period was due) that I'm pregnant. Thing is I've been having cramps, sort of like I'd get a couple of days before my period. They come and go but sometimes I really think I'm going to start my period. Is this normal.
Yes it is and you will probably find you get this around the same time every month. You will also get aches and pains as your body changes and muscles stretch. Im 16 weeks and often get aches and pains but it is all normal.
I had this with the pregnancy of my second child, these are often referred to as "nesting pains" its where the foetus is embedding itself and settling in, its actually a good sign dont worry xx
its perfectly normal but if the pains get bad or there is red blood then speak to your GP straight away.
The hormones produced by pregnancy cause the ligaments around the uterus to relax ready for the sudden growth that will occur, this can cause slight stretching and aching pains just as would occur when your period is due.
Yes I had these at the start of my pregnancy, so much so that I didn't take a test for a whole month because I was convinced I was having pre-period pains and that I was late due to stress or something... but no I was having a baby!
Congrats, I'm trying for another now! Not as i type mind you!
I had these pains too, from about 4-7 weeks. I'm now 10 or 11 weeks (oh dear that's not good, I can't quite remember which week I am on).
They felt like very light period pains but my doc said it was probably the foetus embedding itself in the womb and the womb itself strecthing to accomodate it.
I still get them now from time to time but they have become less painful and less frequent.
