Why would you want to?
why would you want to?
baby will arrive when ready and at 35 weeks is unlikely to be.
Why would you want to..?
you can't (and why would you want to?) If it needs to be done for a medical reason, then let the hospital sort it out.
Why would you want your baby to have 5 weeks less of growing and getting ready to come intot he world?
ooooooooooo - don't your dates tally ?
If an induction is necessary at 35 weeks for the safety or yourself or your baby/ies then this would be done by the trained medical staff. I don't understand why you intend doing this yourself or why you think you should be able to do it yourself and have asked this question on heere.
Even if you did find a way to induce your labour you would be putting your baby's life at risk. The lungs will not necessarily be fully developed and baby may suffer breathing problems. There is also a high risk of baby being low birthweight as much of the growth of a foetus is in the last 5 weeks of pregnancy.
I do remember a story where a baby was induced early not on medical grounds for Mother or baby. But I think their other child had cancer and was due to start treatment round about due date. So they thought it best all round to deliver baby early.

i have researched before thinking about this and it says that at 35 weeks pregnant your baby has a 99.9% chance of survival and that he is fully formed. And i want to because i have a disability called klippel trenaunay syndrome in my leg which is basically too many veins and i get blood clots. As i have got further in my pregnancy its putting more pressure on my leg. And you all saying if this is the case then i should let the doctors deal with it but the doctors don't know anything about this syndrome as it is really rare
Speak to your midwife. Are you in pain?
Speak to your doctor and explain your syndrome, the doctor will then research the condition and decide if it is wise to induce you early. If they do induce you they will do so in a safe manner in hospital, they will also give you steroids to mature your baby's lungs fully.
Anyone who would consider self inducing early should never have gotten pregnant in the first place, it shows a complete lack of common sense and is very selfish.

yes and i know shes a midwife but she also knows nothing about my syndrome. a vein has already burst in my leg and all the doctor could say was it was a bruise but it wasnt i could see the blood underneath my skin and it was really painful. The more pressure that is put on my leg means the more chance of more veins bursting
I've just read quite abit about it as there are dozens of google hits, ask your midwife to read them:

to daffy654!!.. before u start saying i shouldnt of got pregnant in the first place .. well your wrong and im not selfish like i said before i would never put my baby in danger as i have already researched this for a few days now and my baby should weigh around 5 pounds now and his lungs are near enough fully developed now and has a 99.9% of survival
Speak to the consultant that you have for your syndrome and then request that they discuss this with your midwife/ consultant you have for pregnancy.

Do not risk trying to start labour yourself, its a crazy idea! Babies grow on average 0.5lbs a week in last weeks of labour as well as develope their lungs at that stage.
Go back to your GP straight away and tell him exactly what you have put on here. If he won't listen you can ask for a 2nd opinion. Daffy is right. Only a trained doctor can make this decision for you and a doctor worth his salts will find out if he doesn't know.

Don't do anything stupid to endanger yourself or your baby.
Mummy...I had my son at 36 weeks and he was 7lb 4oz.

Saying that I had serious problems so had three lot's of steroids before that.

i know a few people that have done this at 35 weeks their selfs and the baby has been perfectly fine. I am thinking about this for my own health so stop making out im being selfish and wanting to harm my baby. He means the world to me!!
I didn't mean Daffy was right about you getting pregnant in the first place. Dot's idea is also good. You need to be more assertive and make sure the people concerned know of your syndrome and your fears.
Mummy...there is no way to induce labour except the old wives tales.
