Meeting my birth mother today
31 Answers
I'm meeting my birth mother for the first time today (I'm 41) and am absolutely bricking it!
We've been emailing for a few months, but she has been very guarded.
I've decided I'm not going to try to be anything but my honest self and she can like it or lump it, but I'm sooooo nervous.
Not really a question I know, but can anyone give me some words of advice or support please! :-)

She would regularly get upset about it, but was satisfied that he would have a much better life than she could have given him, not to mention all the stigma that went with these things at the time. I've often thought about trying to trace him but it was a long time ago and who knows what reaction he might have? I still think about doing it as he has a lot of relatives that he probably doesn't know about. But as far as I know, he's not made the effort either, so I think it best to leave it.
