What is the current fashion for young boys high school bags? what's in and what's out? This is for my son almost 12 going up to high school. he has no clue and doesn't care but I don't want him to stand out so I want him to have what most other kids will have. He has an Animal brand backpack at the moment which is still in perfect nick, but not sure if that is an out of date brand or style now.

I am told that Storm is popular....
I would say anything from the Army and Navy store- khaki or army coloured backpack or bag. They are always cool! https://www.google.co...eSmT9OtNcPg8gORipmDBQ
The lads round here seem to like Target Dry gear, too.
Boy #1 was using a branded backpack thing, but that gave up the ghost and he is now using a rucksack. The amount of clutter he carries back and fore evy days amazing, the bag weighs a flipping tonne (he declined a school lock). If your son is anything like mine, get something sturdy!

Just googled Storm boxy - seems to be womans bags but did have a kind of messenger bag thing that could be a guys - £40!!
Please excuse the typing mistakes - its this stupid iPad!
Scarlett, nothing from that shop would be cool for a high school boy! They would get the mickey taken out of them if they turned up with one of those.

My son and his mates all have sports brands back packs (Nike, Adidas etc.).
Perhaps it's a different Storm - have a look at Target Dry

I agree with draffy - military stuff is really old hat these days.
Try and find the fashion police...

Scarlett, thanks for that, not sure if they would get aways with camo. The school is very strict on uniform and it its blue and black - i would guess that the backpack/bag should match? Maybe need to look at the rules before I buy.

thanks boxy - i'll have a look at those

sher - the one he has is really strong and has lasted the last 3 years and still looks immaculate - and he has used it for holidays etc too. The one he had before that was a little GAP backpack that he used for nursey for 2 years and school for 4 and for all holdays and the only reason we got rid of it was becasue it looked too small and childish - he really takes care of his stuff.
How about something plain? Might set a new cheaper trend.

Hi boxy - do you mean Super dry? nothing coming up for Target Dry other than cagouls and stuff?
Question Author
Daisy, chance would be a fine thing! everything is branded - it's either a cheap brand (which tends to be a false economy as they fall apart) or a cool or naff brand. Just need to work out which is which!

Animal is a surfer/skater brand I think - do you think that is out and better with Nike or something then?
My tip - try to be reasonably close to the school at going home time and see what the styles are.
Question Author
...and is it satchels rather than backpacks too then?
Good idea, mamya!
Nike, Reebok, Adidas or Superdry. Don't get Puma, Kappa or any of those other cheaper sports brands. Also don't get one that is team branded so as to avoid bullying/pi$$ taking on that front.
Question Author
mamya - yes, he is going up to the high school for a day on Thursday so i'll try to have a look - also need to see what they are wearing on their feet. Regulations say black shoes but I am guessing Clarks are not going to be the thing to have unless you like getting beaten up!!

there is only one kid in our street at High School but she is a girl and at a different school and quite frankly looks a disgrace. She's already been sent home once for fighting too so not following her example!!
