my question is simply what can you do to get some stains out of clothes, I have pants that have grass stains bad and a shirt with blood on it but I don't know how to get it out

I'm assuming you are from the USA
soak in washing soda (arm & hammer Walmart) overnight then wash on cool wash with a biological laundry powder.

Steep the item with blood with cold water and loads of salt.

All other stains we have it UK I use Ace bleach - I find it fantastic - but you may have Vanish which could be used. Google it and you will other wee tips too.

I used to use methylated spirits on grass stains on white cricket clothes
