Grandparents

If you are a grandparent - would you like your grandson just turned 17 living with you.
The young guy works all week but at weekends - he wants to start partying at 11.00 at night till the early morning of day.
Me - I'm not a grandparent but I wouldn't like the responsibility.
If anything happens to the young fella - parents (conveniently) will point the finger - my son was with you (you know what I mean) -

As for the weekend partying well I wouldn't allow it in my house but what he does elsewhere wouldn't be up to me or anyone else..... I do think that to avoid problems, it would be as well for the grandparents to spell out to the boy and to his parents what they can expect and what they can't and what the house rules are and the consequences of breaking them. Personally I don't want a lodger, related or not.
