I've just tried him on tracesmart, but nothing. Trouble is, since 2002, people have been able to opt out of the publicly searchable ER and there is something like 44% missing.

I have recently used a tracing agent for someone - �99 and it took the guy 48 hours. If you can afford to stump up that sort of cash, it might be worth it.

His sis has limited income and time is getting on.....even if he's dead she wants to know. There may be surviving relatives? Thanx for help.

Sorry Tamborine, can find no listings either in St Albans or Hertfordshire. There were 3 Macfarlane's, without the "i" but 2 were in Scotland and one in Wales.

192 keep changing things with what seems to be the intention of getting more money from members, so perhaps my membership is now too basic.

I think you'll find that most Public Libraries have a computer you can use for FREE and Libraries have the facility to look up the voting registers for each area.
Give the library a try.
