My 6 month old is due her 3rd set of baby jabs tomorrow, but has been ill for the last 3 weeks with a cold/chest infection and conjunctivitis. She had Antibiotics last week which cleared her chest, but she still has a bad cough and runny nose (green snot).

She saw GP yesterday re. the cough but I forgot to ask about the jabs - should she be having them while she's still poorly?

call the nurse before you go and ask for advice, they may well postpone her jabs for a week or so.
If mine are unwell when they are supposed to have jabs, I get them postponed. I thought that was what you were supposed to do so that if they get a reaction to the jab (raised temperature) you know it is due to the jab and not the illness.

thanks both....got them postponed for a couple of weeks....I thought I was told with 1st daughter not to get them done if she was il,l but sometimes I think I've made these things up!!
I thought the 3rd set of jabs were given at 16 weeks.
Question Author
yeah they should be, but my little one was in and out of hospital in her first 12 weeks so she started having the jabs later than most!
Awww sorry to hear that k8. Hope she is well now xxx

thanks, yeah she. She just had really poor weight gain and some weight loss with persistant vomitting. stressful at the time but with the right meds/milk she's doing much better.

Hope your little one is doing well! :)
Thats good to hear :o)

He's doing very well thanks. Got his first tooth a week ago, luckily with little fuss. Hope the same goes with the other teeth!
