I'm not talking about the obvious instances when grated cheese is required, like a recipe of a pizza.

Do you just grate cheese to make it go further?

It does wind me up a little when people grate cheese to put in a sandwich!

or to go with a salad.

I know sometimes people will grate cheese to make it go further, don't do it, just put less cheese in or buy more cheese, don't be so tight with the cheese!

I like thick cut cheese in a sandwich or a big! big! chunk of cheese with a salad.
I like my cheese so I can get my teeth into it.

and as for the pre-made sandwiches the sell in the garage, grated cheese with mayo!!! Why do the have to put mayo in every bloody sandwich they make grrrrrr!!

I'm trying to think of the last time I ate cheese that wasn't just on the top of something like pizza. A long time ago...
Some very hard cheeses need to be grated in order to use them. Similarly very soft cheeses are spread.
My son has never eaten raw cheese, he just can't bear the thought of it. He uses it to cook with though. He has never eaten an egg either!!

I like a big chunk of extra mature!!

"Light and manageable" lol, I don't do light and manageable, I do big and chunky and lots of it!!

Oh and cheddar, its nearly always cheddar but I do like other cheeses, I'm not a lover of all that rubbery nonsense cheese like Edam.
I used to like cheese and tomato or cheese and onion sandwiches, since being diagnosed with various digestive problems I cant eat tomatoes or onions so I have lost a lot of interest in cheese, if I have a cheese sandwich I have really thin slices. mind you my digestive system cannot tolerate a lot of cheese as well so probably a good thing
Stilton is good, but I agree about Cheddar.

I like most cheeses. But not parmesan which smells like vomit!
Cheddar every time and so strong it bites you back.
have you tried the M&S one cornich cruncher mamya? now that's a strong cheddar, makes your teeth squeak
