Porcini mushrooms

I have been given some porcini mushrooms in a tall plastic jar which have the date stamp of 2009. Half the jar has been taken. Can anyone advise whether they are still edible as some have a whitish look whilst others look ok. I am not familiar with using these but I know they need soaking twice to rehydrtate and clean them. They are shiitake and oyster type. Thanks for any advice from the experts.
